Alexander Technique
Trish Baillie is a
trained voice coach working in the MANCHESTER area. She works freelance as a teacher of Voice and of the Alexander

Through the Alexander Technique she works to develop an awareness of how undue
tensions interfere with the body’s alignment, breath support, breathing, vocal energy and
presence. With appreciation and respect for where each person is in themselves she works to
dissolve these layers of interference with the use of the voice. Her vocal coach techniques focus on how we use our body and voice and on
finding freedom in that use to develop a voice that is rooted and well balanced. Her work is about discovering and building capacities for balanced strength,
coordination and ease of movement – about finding a state of readiness where ‘the readiness is all’
[Hamlet] - about learning to speak with power, clarity and
confidence - about the expression of the Self. Her elocution lessons can really help your clarity and
confidence.
Head of Voice
Trish was Head of Voice at the Manchester School of
Theatre for 11 years; shehas taught Voice and Text in London, Oxford, and
Manchester and internationally in Montreal, Paris, Berlin, in Rome, and in San Francisco. Her work ranges from
teaching in leading drama schools and training programmes through to giving workshops in Voice and the Alexander
Technique and to working as a voice coach privately and in professional theatre.
